F.O.C.U.S.: Friends of Crossroads: Understanding and Supporting Students, is Crossroads School’s parent group. The goal of F.O.C.U.S is to provide a support group of friends and families of Crossroads who work together for the good of our students, the school, and its faculty.
Mission of FOCUS (Friends of Crossroads-Understanding & Supporting)
- To support the school through a collaboration of volunteer efforts to carry out a variety of projects which facilitate and enhance the school and its learning environment.
- To coordinate networking opportunities for our Crossroads families, supporters, and alumni.
- To provide learning opportunities for our parents in a supportive setting to assist in developing their skills to raise and protect their children.
- To advocate for quality education for children with leaning differences.
It is common for most schools to have a parent group; Crossroads School has FOCUS. What is unique about FOCUS is the coordinated effort of current parents, alumni parents and other community supporters. You will hear a great deal about FOCUS and how you can lend a hand throughout the year. FOCUS is involved in coordinating volunteers for field trips, special school events and projects and will also provide a forum for parents to share information and resources. It is a link for alumni parents to guide current parents through the challenges of raising a child with Learning Differences. FOCUS helps to advocate for these children in the larger community.
